Nano Cube
The Nano is a compact instrument built for rapid deployment and accurate mean radiant temperature (MRT) measurement. A fast and economical alternative to a globe thermometer, it utilizes 6 medical-grade Melexis thermopile IR sensors to cover an almost full spherical field of view. The Nano is perfect for distributed or mobile sensing applications. A high-accuracy Real-Time-Clock (RTC) tracks the time and frequency of the scans. An ambient temperature reading is also included. The device records once every 2 seconds by default.
Capabilities:
- Mean radiant temperature, ±0.3°C
- Planar radiant asymmetry
- Ambient temperature, ±0.1°C
The data can be accessed from the sensor in several ways. The primary method is through a .csv file written to a microSD card. For wired applications, the device will broadcast over a serial port at up to 115200 baud. The sensor will also send data over a BLE bluetooth serial port emulation that is readable using the Adafruit Connect Apps for iOS, Android, and desktop Macs, or any other BLE serial emulator. Lastly, external screw terminals will output an analog MRT reading.
Features:
- 6 x MLX90614 medical-grade thermopile sensor
- USB-C serial/charging port
- MicroSD port
- BLE Bluetooth capability
- ¼-20 standard tripod screw mounts
